There will be an interest meeting September 3rd after (sola)s (around 9 pm). This will be a time for you to ask any question you have, or raise any concern you have about this trip. Please seek God about this chance to proclaim His name among the nations.
We are embarking on a new semester, and I want to give you guys an idea of where we are heading for the next two months.
On August 27th we are kicking off our Thursday night gatherings at the activities center (for directions, click on the “directions” tab above and follow the directions to the east campus – 1508 Hardy St.).
After our initial gathering, we are starting off the semester with a 6 week series we’re calling “birds and bees.” That’s right, you guessed it: six weeks about what it means to be human, to be male or female, and to be created for relationships. We’re going to deal with sex and dating, comparing secular culture’s view to Scripture’s view.
We’re not going to leave much off limits, so this should be pretty interesting. I think this series could be really productive, but I’ll warn you, it’s also going to be potentially offensive…The Bible has a way of getting up in our grill and exposing some mess in our lives.
The voting has ended and the shirts you have selected are ready to be ordered. If you would like to order a shirt for 2009-2010, you may do so immediately. Go to the “shirts” page (listed above), select which shirt you’d like, and then leave a comment on the page stating which shirt you’d like and what size you need. If you would prefer to email your order, send the same info to solashattiesburg@gmail.com. The shirts will cost $8 and you can pay for them at one of (sola)s’ gatherings – Sunday mornings, or Thursday evenings (starting Aug. 27th). If you’d like to order a shirt but you are unable to make it to one of our gatherings, please email us and we can work something out. All shirt orders must be placed by August 30th.
Just a reminder,
We are finished with our summer gatherings. We will not be meeting for the next two weeks. (sola)s thursday night gatherings will kick back on August 27th at the Activities Center (east campus).
